Working on a Doctorate in 'Real Life'
Although Adam has a Bachlors degree in music from North Central University, he continues to learn through various recording and performance opportunities. He has had the privilege to play guitar for such artists as Grant Norsworthy of Sonic flood, Dave Pedde, Reggie Dabbs, Nicole Serrano and many others.
Adam’s current musical projects include playing guitar for two alternative rock bands.
- Led by Eric Bjorkland, Boiling Point is a straight-ahead Christian rock band that is changing lives with a simple, yet positive message. Boiling Point is currently recording a project under producer, Ben Kasica, of the band Skillet. Follow this link to find out more about Boiling Point.
- The Valence is a pop-rock band that attempts to build musical complexity around catchy melodic hooks. Adam’s involvement in the Valence includes playing lead guitar, songwriting, arranging finished songs, and co-producing the bands first EP. Click on the link to find out more about
The Valence.
Along with his endeavors in rock, Adam also finds an outlet in the 'singer-songwriter' genre through his self-titled solo project. Apart from singing and playing guitar on the EP, Adam also wrote, arranged, and produced the project. You can check out the music by following the links below. Viva la North Central
Adam graduated from North Central University in 2008 with a degree in music where he was able to study many different styles of music. At North Central, Adam spent seven months touring with North Central’s premier worship team, One Accord. One Accord toured the Midwest and East Coast playing many different venues, from coffee houses to Youth Conventions and camps. He also played guitar for North Central’s Gospel Ensemble, Jazz Band, and Jazz Workshop.
Two of Adam’s years at North Central were spent as a teacher aid for Rhythm Ensemble, a class that specializes in introducing less experienced players to new styles, including Funk, Jazz, Reggae, Latin, Rock, Pop, Blues, and more.
In the Beginning
Although not spiritually profound or awe-inspiring, Adam's love of music can really be traced back to one moment in history; Adam's first viewing of the movie, "Back to the Future."
Completely unaware that Michael J. Fox wasn’t actually playing guitar for “Johnny Be Good,” Adam decided that if he could just play guitar like Marty Mcfly, everything else in life would just work out. Although sorely mistaken about life (and Michael J. Fox’s ability to play guitar), Adam was on his way to becoming a guitarist.
After taking his first guitar instruction position at age 16, Adam knew immediately that he had discovered his career. He has since spent all of his time honing his skills, both as a guitarist and teacher.
